On our trip to Vietnam in August 2006, we visited some of our students, orphanages, medical stations, and a Catholic church in Bac Hai, Soc Trang. The church is serving many poor people in nearby areas. Once a month, the pastor gives rice and old clothes to poor and disabled people. He is rebuilding the church so more people can come. This effort is on hold as he ran out of funds. Please download photos and the letter from the pastor of the church.
There are many other students waiting for sponsorship. Here is an example of a classroom of students needing help. It costs only $50 a year to sponsor a student which covers tuition and books. If you would like to sponsor one or more children, please contact us at info@sbvcc.org.
Our latest newsletter has been released on Thanksgiving day of 2004. Please download and read the latest updates of our activities.
This is the first year SBVCC participated in the Hoi Cho Tet 2004 in Garden Grove, California to raise fund for poor children in Vietnam. There are over 30 volunteers putting in so many hours to make it a success. It was hard work, but everyone felt good about the team spirit and the work they have done. Please see Pictures from fund-raising activities at Hoi Cho Tet 2004.
