SBVCC's Programs in Vietnam
SBVCC are helping poor people in Vietnam through these programs:
1. Find sponsors for children in Cam Ranh, Quang Tri, Hue, and Pleiku. We have a list of 73 students in these regions. All these students can not afford to go school without our help. We have received donations from many generous people for these students. We still need all the help we can get for these children. There are also poor students needing help in North Vietnam.
2. Build tram xa at Di Linh for the lepers: the facility was built to serve the lepers in Di Linh. The cost for building the facility and operating it since 2/2000 is about $16,000. This facility is helping 145 people with this disease in Di Linh area.
3. Sponsor 25 girls in the Mekong Delta to attend school. This program is run by the Nu Tu Bac Ai Vinh Son. See the the program plan and sample list of students at the end of this page. There is a total of 2669 children needing sponsorship for education. Currently only 649 children have been sponsored. The remaining 1920 children are waiting for people like yourselves to help them through basic education. Their families can barely afford food for the whole family. Education is a luxury and a dream for these kids. Yet the cost to sponsor 1 child is only about $3.50 per month.
4. Sponsor western and oriental medical training programs for the sisters of Holy Cross
5. Help the poor people in Lam Dong.
6. Help disabled children in Cu Chi.
7. Help the Truyen Tin orphanage in Ba Queo.
8. Help build classrooms in Bien Hoa.
9. Help poor children and their families in Hon Chong and Vinh Loi
There are other activities SBVCC are involved in. In the past, these projects were funded by donations from members of Cong Doan Thanh Phero in Torrance California.
If you would like to make a donation specifically to any one of these programs, we will make sure your donations will go to the right place. Below are some pictures and sample letters from people in Vietnam.
